Homeownership
Homeownership through Habitat helps build strength, stability, and self-reliance.
Some think that Habitat houses are given away or donated. What Habitat Homeowners accomplish is much more. Habitat homeowners qualify for affordable loans and make monthly mortgage payments along with property taxes and homeowner’s insurance. Future homeowners are involved in every step of the home-buying process - volunteering with our Team, getting to know our staff, and learning skills to become successful homeowners.
Affordable mortgage options include mortgages financed through Habitat as well as third-party loans through established partnerships. Habitat programs center around the idea of a partnership between Habitat and homeowners. Therefore, successful homebuyers must also be willing to contribute “sweat equity” by volunteering on Habitat projects and complete a substantial financial education course. Successful applicants will be able to repay an affordable mortgage on a monthly basis.
Habitat is an Equal Housing Lender and all programs proactively comply with Fair Housing laws and regulations.
We are accepting applications at this time!
